Plano Early Lions Club

The Plano Early Lions Club received their Charter from Lions Clubs International on June 10, 1977.  Since chartering, the club has been served by 28 Presidents.  The first female President was Marcia Brooks in 1999.  The club has been the home club of three Past District Governors and one Past Cabinet Secretary.

The Plano Early Lions Club currently has 40 members and meets on the first and third Saturdays of the month at 8:00 a.m. at the Southfork Hotel, 1600 North Central Expressway, Plano, TX  75074.  For additional information call 972-985-8260 or visit http://www.planoearlylions.org.

Projects over the years have included selling and installing American Flag Kits, selling chimney caps, selling “The Game of Plano”, sponsoring a Haunted House, sponsoring a Scholarship Queen Pageant, collecting used eyeglasses, and manning a booth at Smirnoff Music Center.  Current projects include sponsoring the Plano Independence Day Parade, sponsoring the Plano Children’s Film Festival, collecting used eyeglasses and used cell phones, and sponsoring the Plano Children’s Magic Show.

All money raised from projects is donated to those that are less fortunate than we are.  Donations include $10,000 per year in college scholarships for Plano I.S.D. graduates, $9,000 per year to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, and annual donations to:

  • The Lions Sight & Tissue Foundation
  • The Plano Children’s Medical Clinic
