As a college student, life can be pretty difficult.  Juggling summer courses, two internships, a weekend babysitting job, and keeping up with a full-time family certainly keeps life interesting.  After balancing all these activities taking place over the course of two months, the very last thing needed is additional stress.  Aside from all the time management skills you learn (and you DO learn them…quickly), there is always the opportunity to learn and grow in all areas of knowledge.  I guess that knowledge is one of the major contributing factors to my two hour visit to the AT&T store last weekend.

Life in the social media fast-lane is made infinitely more difficult when you have a two and a half year old brick phone.

With the sheer amount of high-tech phones out on the market, picking one that is the right fit for you and your needs can be mind boggling.  Luckily, after tons of research, I have the 411, the low-down, (and the phone to go with it) on which applications are most useful for those in the social media marketing profession.

foursquare:  foursquare is a handy little app that allows the user to “check-in” at thousands of places.  When you check in, it allows you the opportunity to comment on each place.  Many restaurants and stores offer coupons and discounts to those who check in at their location.  Each check in earns you points and points earn you merit badges.  Make sure you check out the individual tips at each location.  You might find something that isn’t on the menu that sounds good. https://foursquare.com/

TweetDeck: TweetDeck is the most convenient app ever created.  With the numerous social media sites out (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, foursquare), TweetDeck consolidates all of your posts into one place.  From this app you can update all your mediums, read posts from others, search by keyword, and much, much more.   https://www.tweetdeck.com/

Want to take your media messaging up to the next level?  Check out HootSuite. https://hootsuite.com/

While HootSuite does consolidate your mediums (Twitter, Facebook, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn, and ping.fm) into one browser tab, it also allows you to access more than one account at once.  Additionally, it offers great custom analytics.  So, for those advertising guru’s who juggle numerous clients’ accounts, HootSuite is heaven-sent to help you.

AT&T Code Scanner: The code scanner reads barcodes that you find on products, in ads, or online, and allows you to compare prices, read reviews, and get coupons and discounts.  More and more businesses are using QR codes to offer discounts and direct consumers to their website. https://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/solutions/mobile-marketing/mobile-barcode-download.jsp

Using these few apps on your android, iPhone, or windows phone will make your life considerably easier.  If you want to learn the most efficient way to integrate these applications into your marketing, contact us at atomicdc.com!
